The very rapidly recruited ground team, it appears.

I thought, maybe wrongly, there is a support team ready to assist for landing. Maybe the fact they landed in a street is a sign it was more urgent and therefore relying on passersby. :-)

There is a support team but they have to follow the balloon, which will probably make better speed over a town than the support vehicle will.

My experience, one balloon ride in Australia, and the support team met the balloon at the landing site. They were set up ready when the balloon arrived. --

In my own experience - same number of flights - we landed several
minutes before the support team arrived. It all depends on wind speed, traffic conditions, ... and other stuff. My flight was in Essex and we
had reached the stage where we either had to land, or keep going to The Netherlands.

There have been trips round-the-world trips in hot air balloons.

AISI their biggest problem would be, do the have enough fuel on board to
    make the trip.

Next did they pack their passports? The Dutch probably feel the same
about undocumented migrants arriving by hot air balloon, as the English
do about undocumented migrants arriving by rubber dingy.

Yes, I can imagine it would cause some problems and no easy way to fly back. It was more an unexpected trip, I once went on a coach trip I thought was going to Dover and ended up in Calais where I was refused entry as a UK driving licence was not enough :-)

Unless they have got a lot more stroppy soince we left the EU. the UK
photo card driving licence could get you out of trouble in the
    circumstances mentioned.

I suspect that the ones that have gone around the world are rCLhybridrCY balloons rather than pure hot air balloons.

Indeed, even with helium doing the bulk of the heavy lifting.

The worst that ever happened to me was falling asleep on the train back
from work and ending up in Sutton, only 5 or 6 stops beyond my own.

A coworker got off the last train to Southend, home from work. Walked
down the path to his front door, keys in hand, opened the front door and suddenly remembered .... The previous week he had moved to Greenwich.
His wife was not best pleased having to get dressed and drive to pick
collect him. The people who had bought his Southend house were not best pleased to have a drunk in their front room.

Well if ever there was a reminder to change the locks to a new house.

I also fell asleep on the train once, but it was going home and there was nothing until the next morning. I slept in the waiting room and caught a 4am train home. Not pleasant and I only did it the once. :-)
