I'm thinking of getting a motorcycle. Would have to sell the trailer to

I didn't used to ride the Blackbird much here as it was too big and not suitable for the fun roads. When I lived in the UK I used to ride a lot

I've had more fun this year riding the two single cylinder bikes in
my garage (DR200SE & KLR650) than the FJR. Even the ~200 kg KLR is
starting to feel like a big heavy bike.

Get a smaller bike and enjoy it!

    how many decades ago?

rent one for a few days before buying as they years catch up on you!

I've had to change bikes recently to get more friendly ergonomics. It has
been a great success and done 6000 miles in 6 months, mostly on 2 trips
    into France & Spain.

Those Voge trail/adv bikes seem popular in Spain.

For some rides It Is better suited, but If I do go out In the summer the

That reminds me- when I first moved in to my house, with a double
garage (approximately 24x24 feet or 53 m^2), I was able to ride my
    KZ750E2 in circles, inside it.

Sadly, there's barely enough room in there now to fit one car, what
with four bikes, one on a lift, and all the other 'treasures' it holds.

Had a few of those (and 50/70) back in the day. Used to be able to

when I was recovering from Hep E in 2015 I was not enjoying riding the huge Super Tenere XT1200Z. A weekend loan of a Yamaha MT07 reinvigorated my

Podington airfield, near the villages of Hinwick and Podington,
was formerly a Second World War airbase. In 1966, permission was
obtained to use the airfield as a drag racing complex, the 3/4
mile (4,000 feet; 1.2 kilometres) main runway being used as the drag
strip. Santa Pod was named after Santa Ana Drags, a drag strip in
California, USA, and the local village of Podington.

Oh. I think I can see why.

I went to a regional rally[1] 2-3 times around 15 years ago. Mostly
fat old codgers and their wives on Gold Wings and Harleys, pulling
trailers. Only went because a couple of riding buddies from work were
going. It was OK but aside from getting to see some truly bizarre
bikes with even more bizarre custom artwork, it was pretty meh as
    riding experiences go.

Give me a small group get-together[2] in a place with interesting

I went this year, for the first time -
I'd say your characterisation is about 50-70% right.
There were also plenty of Himalayans (some dirty, some never-seen-rain), proper dirt bikes and '80s trailies. There are curated trails around the
site, of varying levels of difficulty, which were in use by a mix of all
    the above.

Plenty of bikes on show from manufacturers (including Harley, with their entire range, oddly enough) and available to sit on and take for test
rides (both road and around a very gently trail). First time I've seen
    Voge bikes in the metal.

I saw talks from RyanF9, Austin Vince, Elspeth Beard, James Hillier (TT
and now Dakar racer) and a few others; Plenty of YouTube 'celebrities'
    to ignore.

There was also a big music stage, for some reason populated entirely by 'tribute' bands; I hate 'tribute' bands.

Overall it was much like the BMF Rally of old.
I enjoyed it, but probably won't bother again.

On what I like to think of as our second date, I took her out around Wiltshire
on my VFR800. She remembers that I went over 100mph (I do not recall). It was
another 5 years before our next date...

    LOL

On an early date, first time (ever) on a motorbike, I took V out and
went to, maybe, 80mph. She said she "loved it, especially when you
    went fast!"

She's changed her perspective since then, and now understands what
    "fast" means

K asks the new definition of "fast" if you please.

    Then there's still time....

I think I have all the parts I need, I just need the spark of ambition
to get off my lazy arse and actually overhaul the carburetors and put
    them back on the bike.

Kits are only $171.34. Get your's today! Do you want the DVD back?
    How about leftover decals?

I made a copy of the DVD on DVD-R (or was it +R?) media, hopefully
it's still playable. I'll dig around and see if I can find it,
but if not I will let you know.

Not sure I need much in the way of parts for the carbs other than
gaskets which I think I ordered back in 2016... geez.

No doubt YOU'LL NEED some tan handlebar grips to finish the job to
    good effect:

... or perhaps some red radiator hose:

It seems to me entirely possible that Randak has jumped the shark.

I think I will pass on those items, but thanks.

Well, I am glad to hear he is still in the Gold Wing parts business,
    at least.

She has been halfway across Europe on the back of his H2S... and then
she married him. And yet when I first met her she seemed quite sane.
