JHC that was hard getting that bolted back onto the gearbox. Took me
    nearly all day.

Because of the fancy clutch, there are two friction plates plus the
pilot bearing to get lined up.

It would not go but after much swearing and jiggling and measuring and levelling and to-ing and fro-ing and rtfm-ing and watching multiple
Youtubes, I finally got the sticking out thing into the hole.

My plan was to make sure the clutch worked before going any further,
pleased to report it does. All our fiddling about, measuring and
adjusting it paid off, that's a relief.
Put a few more ancillaries on, incuding the starter motor. Gave myself a
scare when testing the starter with a quick blip, as it was in gear and lurched forward. Oops.

Let me understand - you've refurbed, cleaned and repainted the motor,
such that it looks like new...and bolted it back on to a rusting hulk
    of a tractor

    Do be careful, James

Do be careful googling that sort of thing!

    Rumbled.

I didn't originally intend to paint it... but "while I was there".

The rest may or may not get done over time, right now I just want to be
    able to use it.
