Yeah I did wonder that. Most of the photos are on flickr, uploaded
fairly recently but the filenames would imply they were taken in July.

Misogyny - ingrained and institutionalised prejudice against women; sexism.

Chauvinist - believing that one gender is superior to another.

Both can be applied, but I understand more definitions are available.

I think it is deeper than that as evidenced by they way he attaches a
female persona to his bike. Something that is not uncommon but usually in

This grates with me more than his verbal abuse of female border officials.

Ah, well, yes - words, and how they're used, can be complicated

    Mostly quoting from [1], [2]:

Strictly, it comes from Greek roots meaning ohateo and owoman,o and
some dictionaries define it as simply hatred or dislike of women or
    girls

The Oxford English Dictionary, always more subtle and interesting,
defines misogyny as ohatred or dislike of, or prejudice against,
    women.o

Well, by analogy to prejudice against Jews or blacks, it would be to
include all strategies and tactics designed to set a group of people
apart, to view them as inferior, and to deprive them of opportunities.

The Wikipedia entry on the subject begins:
oMisogyny is the hatred or dislike of women or girls. According to
feminist theory, misogyny can be manifested in numerous ways,
including sexual discrimination, denigration of women, violence
against women, and sexual objectification of women.o

So, my summary is: almost all sexism and chauvinism is about the
control, to some degree, of women, so not treating them as your equal,
which, in both modern usage, and to my mind, equals misogny.

When I first read his report, I thought it was Ok, different, almost pornograpic in parts but quite entertaining and an ode to minimal
preparation and getup and go mentality.
After reading Wessie's misogyny observations I would tend to agree and
    now I can't un-read those aspects.
I think there are two main possible scenarios here. Either he is
actually like that, sees it as normal and this is how he sees life
(women in particular). If this is the case then there is not much you
can do about it, people like that exist, they probably are not going to
change, just hope that general perceptions change and that people like
that are inevitably going to die out.
A second (and more probable IMHO) scenario is that it is all false. He
is not really like that but has created a persona he deems to be more entertaining which would indeed make him a not very nice person.
A third scenario of course is that he is mentally disturbed and is a
    danger to his fellow citizens.
Do I like him? Difficult to judge based only on what he writes, I would
have to meet him in person before deciding but indeed that is not high
    on my list of priorities.
