If I am reading the headers correctly I think you are using news.individual.net
I am with news.eternal-september.org which has glitches but appears to
work.
Hopefully you can move elsewhere in the next two years.

That date will come upon us faster than you think. How many umrats
realised that today is really the 10th October? It must be because the
blurb for the Drama on 4 this afternoon, Astronomers, <https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002k3j2> quite definitely says that
"Our first broadcast coincides with the centenary of Tecwyn Roberts'
birth" and as any fule kno (or umrat with Wikipedia) that should fall
on Friday 10th October.
10th October today; the shops are already telling us that Christmas is tomorrow: the Berlin server closure date will be with us in no time
after that.

It's worth pointing out that eternal-september is free, gratis and for nothing.
It's also worth pointing out that you get what you pay for.
An interesting article by Tim Berners-Lee recently decrying the way that
Web 2.0 has developed away from his original concept of a medium for the free exchange of ideas and information into a source of data for manipulation and exploitation.

After 273 years, none of the original claimants are able to pursue their case against the government. The government have continued using that
same technique on all sorts of claims.

I know that you and kosmo have contributed more recently to this thread but, here on <https://rocksolid-us.pugleaf.net/> the more recent posts haven't arrived yet. That's why I am replying to your messages here and not there.
They are obviously still working on it / playing with it / tweaking it because the front page I mentioned isn't there any more. But on the bare bones front page is a list on the left hand side listing "nodes" (I think (I'm not going to risk going back to find out while I have this connection)) and rocksolid-us is shown as working in beta testing mode.
So I went to https://rocksolid-us.pugleaf.net and lo and behold the sign-in button is there and my registration details from before still work. Which is how I come to be writing this. But I think it might be a while before everything becomes reliable and consistent. Hang on in there but keep on using alternatives for now, is what I'm going to do.

Does your newsreader allow you to receive from multiple hosts? When I
was with PlusNet I set Agent to pick up from both Plusnet and Eternal >September and it worked fine. Any posts not retrieved from one would
usually be found by the other. So why not keep both for now?

Thanks for that, Billy G! I shall have a go at that later.
I tried that and it looked easy enough but until I look at this posting I won't know if anything has changed. When I pressed the button to update the user name the response concerned an incorrect password. The only option to enter a password appears to be in the Change Password box below the display name box.
Maybe I should mention that, though I've been using usenet since the last century, I've never tried to get under the hood, so to speak. To me it's a black box system (connect it up and it goes) so I might not be the type of user pugleaf is working for.
Thanks again,
Nick
I was using the url <https://novabbs.pugleaf.net/login> which lets you
enter a userid and psw, but the last clickable button on the top line is LOGIN.

Dear Users of the news server News.Individual.DE /
News.Individual.NET,
We hereby announce the discontinuation of the service as of 30
September 2027 (that is two years from now).
which one am I using?
If I am reading the headers correctly I think you are using >>>>news.individual.net
I am with news.eternal-september.org which has glitches but appears to >>>>work.
Hopefully you can move elsewhere in the next two years.
have 2 years and did pay, in May wasn't it?
Does your newsreader allow you to receive from multiple hosts? When I
was with PlusNet I set Agent to pick up from both Plusnet and Eternal >>September and it worked fine. Any posts not retrieved from one would >>usually be found by the other. So why not keep both for now?
