Don't worry about Christmas Dinner. although Ruth and Pip offered to
help and make it a jointly prepared meal, David has insisted he alone
will cook the whole thing. He said he is 50..er..umbrella years oldand
hhas never cooked but how hard canit be. He was looking for Jill's
book of recipes, but she took it with her. So she was never coming
    back?

They will be just Ruth, David, their children and Rosie on Christmas
day. I hope David is not too proud to go to M&S or Waitrose and get
the roast potatoes, veg, gravy, CHristmas pud, cake, mince pies etc.
Those can be prefectly acceptable and would make it easier to
organise. I wonder if the bird flue epidemic will make it hard to get
a turkey. Well, they have lambs and cows.

Mealwhile don't get too happy about no panto this year. We will have
choir wars instead. And I have always liked Jolene but didn't at
alllast night. And resented feeling pro-Mick, since I've disliked and >mistrusted him since he arrived. he silly man should just have said
    firmly 'No.' Or more firmly.

Ben just wants to be left in peace now to catch up on uni work but his >friends and family keep trying to distract him inorder to cheer him
up.;As his tutor pointed out his grades slipped recently, even though
he still passed his assignments. I think the family should back off.
If he catches up and then gets onto the practical stuff of nursing it
    will be good forhim.

I think actually he is making a bit of a meal of it. It is Chelsea who
had the abortion and has the hormones to affect her now. And she is
coping very well, it seems. If Jill hasn't been so nasty I think we'd
    be less anxious about Ben.

    Apologies for the Gillivery.
Apologies if I'm repeating remarks already made in this thread because
I confess that I haven't read to the end before posting. Sorry.
