Brown envelopes? These days it would all be done by bank transfer.
Plus Lynda did not hand them out - Vince handled and Lynda was excluded
from the entire arrangement. Monday's episode implied that she had been
    in on it throughout.

It is almost as if no-one actually listens to it.

but why would Rex implicate Lyndie unless he believes, via Vince, it was of
her making - thus keeping *his* snout crystal clean.

Rex knew full well that Lynda did not know originally - Lily made it
clear. Lynda found out and rightly put a stop to it. I honestly
believe that few village cricketers are paid - certainly not in the
lower leagues and this is division 4 - implying at least three higher Borsetshire leagues.

On Thursday evening (so potential spoiler) Brookfield are about to tag
the new calves. Several years ago at great expense and in a long drawn
out story line Brookfield sold the existing herd and bought a new
expensive herd, much larger giving up the arable and needing a new jerry
moss built milking parlour as they wanted to switch to spring calving to maximise the use of the grass throughout the summer months to make milk
    more profitable.

So there are NO new calves - and the existing calves were all tagged
before Ben spent some time writing their passports up a couple of weeks
ago to ensure he was busy and could be paid as there are no jobs for
    newly qualified nurses.

    Am I losing the plot?

If you mean yesterday, I didnrCOt hear any discussion about tagging cows, but on Wed far too much about Stella wanting to milk the cows - and yesterday, milking them again.

Who knows what tonight will bring?
