I don't know. I guess we have to wait and see. Presumably possession of an iPhone will become a terrorist offence and Apple users will be invite to a stay in the cells.

Shame really. Won't bother me, but SWMBO iPad Pro is her lifeline.

I don't think any Apple *customers* will be in trouble, but presumably
some Apple employees or directors could be liable to imprisonment under
    the Investigatory Powers Act 2016.

It's another example, like the proscription of Palestine Action, of the government being utterly stupid and trying to require people to do or
not do things that the government simply doesn't have the power to make
    them do or not do.

Time to install Tails or at least encrypt hard drives?

Cheer up: it's probably all too late anyway.

I've just been reading about Warrant Canaries. I started off reading
Cory Doctorow's piece about Amazon in The Guardian today (Sun 5th) and
after a dozen or so click-throughs here and there ended up with
Warrant Canaries. To save you the trouble, just use your favourite
search engine and look for Warrant Canaries Apple.

TL:DR - Apple may have lost the battle as far back as 2014

    Nick
