I have a problem with Usenapp. All new postings are scattered through the list of other postings and I would like them displayed at the top of the screen.
Can anyone tell me how to do this?

    Thank you, petefj.

Would the 'Hide read' option help as mentioned in the Usenapp - Mark as Read article.

Not too sure what you mean, but I will say that Usenapp -- is definitely "a learning experience", which with no user guide and all.

There are two windows which display threads. The upper window has the thread
in one order (what is it?); the lower displays the thread in its left hand column (which _may_ be chronological).

I use the lower, because simply pressing the space bar cycles through the responses in (what I take to be) chronoloical order; you have to select a response in that column to move the focus. If a response is longer than the depth of that lower window Usenapp shows you the rest of the response before
it moves on to the next response: nifty, I thought, when I discovered this.

Usenapp. for me, is a little bit like one of those great little adventure
games we used to get in the days of System 9.

Sort by date. Scroll right on the topics until you see the date. Then click on the "Date" at the top of the column.

You can sort by any column. Sorting by date puts the newest at the top.

As a security-conscious Mac user, I would like a safe and intelligent
way to analyze macOS software (such as .app bundles and .dmg files)
without needing to install or run them. While I understand that ChatGPT
itself cannot execute software for safety reasons, it /could/ provide
    enormous value by offering:

Passive static analysis of app bundles

Inspection of code-signing and notarisation status

Warnings about suspicious patterns (e.g., launch agents, silent background activity, obfuscated components)

Interpretation of embedded strings, certificates, and potential
    network behaviour

This would be especially helpful for proprietary tools where the
developer is unknown or not transparent. For instance, I have strong
doubts about a macOS tool called EtreCheck, which installs deeply into
the system and collects diagnostic data. Despite it being notarised by
Apple, the developer (who goes by a pseudonym) has ignored repeated
support inquiries. This lack of accountability rCo combined with
notarisation being no guarantee of ethics or privacy rCo highlights the
need for independent, AI-assisted evaluation tools.

Similarly, nobody has ever confirmed that Usenapp has been checked.
The developer is an unknown quantity with no on-line presence!

Ideally, ChatGPT could either integrate with services like VirusTotal or
guide users through safe inspection methods. Even helping users run
passive Terminal checks (e.g., codesign, spctl, strings) and
interpreting those results intelligently would be a great first step.

I believe many responsible users would appreciate the ability to assess
macOS apps more critically and safely rCo without blind trust or risk.

Also it seems you need to ensure that View -> Threads -> Ungrouped is selected before that works. Having done that it certainly works for me. Thanks :)

Sounds like that's the answer - by date + ungrouped (that's confudled me in
the past with Usenapp and other newsreaders).

Clicking the left square bracket + right pointing arrow on the left of the lower menu bar will also colapse that lower left hand window if you want a slightly cleaner look.

    Tyrone,

Your post is a torrent of personal abuse, wild accusations, and unsubstantiated claims. If you believe this sort of behaviour
constitutes "helping people," then I fear for the tone of discourse in
    this group.

Let me clarify a few points:

Asking security-related questions is not stalking.
Raising concerns about a non-App-Store macOS app with no visible developer ID and no reliable support mechanism is entirely legitimate. Especially in an age where trust in software must be earned, not demanded.

Repetition does not equate to harassment.
If an app's developer continually avoids accountability, or
disappears without answering user concernsrCoespecially after taking paymentrCousers will ask questions. Ten years of avoidance doesn't negate
the validity of those questions; it strengthens them.

Personal attacks are not a substitute for arguments.
Resorting to name-calling ("flaming turd," really?) and shouting
about supposed bans does not prove anything. In fact, it suggests you
have no substantive counterargument and are instead relying on invective
    to silence dissent.

If you genuinely cared about "helping people," you'd engage
