The last CDFA report was May 21, and they are now admitting that 43
dairy herds have been reinfected.-a That would make nearly 50 herds
infected since May 21 in just California.-a It seems nuts that they still are not testing dairy workers and contact tracing.-a Cattle movements are restricted and about the only way that these herds are being reinfected
is that infected dairy workers are going between farms.-a The Hogvet blog has been reporting that there are multiple states with reinfected herds,
but the USDA is not "counting" these herds as newly infected.-a There are
no restrictions for dairy workers on infected dairies from going to
other states.-a The USDA and CDC are claiming that the epidemic is
waining, but they are not counting the new reinfections, and Hogvet
claimed that 23 states are no longer having their dairies tested (It has always been voluntary but they had gotten all but around 5 states
testing their dairies at one time).-a Just think what it is like in
states that were infected in early 2024 if the virus has changed enough
to start reinfecting so many California herds.-a Around 85% of the dairy herds in California should have some immunity.-a Studies indicate that nearly all the milking cattle get infected on infected dairies, and that most do not show symptoms, but still have antibodies against H5N1.
What they should be informing the public about is what genotype is
infecting these new herds.-a The D1.1 genotype would be expected to
readily infect herds that had already been infected with the B3.13
genotype, and the D1.1 genotype had gotten from Washington to Nevada by March and then to Arizona, likely via Washington poultry workers, and
Nevada dairy workers because Arizona claims that it did not get Nevada cattle to start their infection, but they somehow got the Nevada virus.

RFK cuts $500 million in mRNA vaccine contracts. mRNA vaccines would be >about our only effective response to the dairy epidemic transferring to >humans. RFK had already canceled Moderna's influenza vaccine. The
initial tests of the Moderna mRNA influenza vaccine indicated that it
was more effective than the vaccine currently in use, likely because the >sequences were an exact match for the virus actually infecting people.
Even though the D1.1 genotype is still claimed to be H5N1 the sequence
was so different from the B3.13 and other H5N1 genotypes that they
didn't even both testing it against existing vaccine strains. mRNA
vaccines allow an exact match with the virus causing the pandemic. You >don't have to rely on trying to use the closest match in the vaccine
strain inventory or trying to create new vaccine strains.
RFK is just a short sighted boob.
