    Any local sheet metal or fabrication shops? Offer to buy it for them if they'll wire it up and let you come in and play when you want to :-).

    Any local sheet metal or fabrication shops?-a Offer to buy it for them if they'll wire it up and let you come in and play when you want to :-).

    Already have a friend with all the necessary kit. But, that
    doesn't stop the "Ooo! Ooo! I want! I want!" (sigh)

    I have to keep in mind that if I've been discarding (relatively)
    small things like test equipment, I can't turn around and start bringing considerably LARGE things in to replace them! <frown>

    [As long as this doesn't sell *cheap*, I will be comfortable
    with that discipline]

    Is that a liquid helium dewar in the background?

    We used to manufacture all the pulsed-gradient drivers and temperature controllers for Varian NMR systems. Agilent bought Varian for the
    medical products and shut down the NMR operation, partially because
    liquid helium is too expensive.

    ~$400. Easy to let this one go, given its size and the hassle
    of getting it home!
