From Newsgroup: sci.crypt
There is a fun "encryption" method I use from time to time.
But NOBODY who's seen the encryptions has ever decoded them! :-(
Despite that they seem to me as if they should be easy.
I've made a bet with myself: *For some of the folks in sci.crypt
finding these hidden messages will be child's play.*
(I'm sorry if "encrypted form" has some technical meaning inapplicable
to the message-hiding method I use.)
Three days ago I posted the following puzzle
to rec.puzzles and rec.games.trivia.
(See
https://newsgrouper.org/rec.puzzles/97403/0)
For the purpose of sci.crypt, ignore the
"Can you identify them from the clues?"
I'm just curious if you can decrypt the
"two political predictions in an encrypted form."
Please tell me how many minutes it took you to decrypt these.
Cheers,
James

Subject: Famous half-siblings
I'm thinking of two men, unrelated to each other.
Can you identify them from the clues?
(No Googling please; These puzzles may have been posted before.)
(1) Each of the two men created a famous phrase that might be described
as a political prediction.
(2) Neither of the two men ever won a Nobel prize.
(3) Each of the two men had a half-sibling who did win a Nobel Prize.
Hints:
Here are the two "political predictions" in an encrypted form:
** Betray a sovereign? The newlywed overvalued is.rCi
rCi
** Appreciate cure; buffoonery conquer; rhetoric amuses.rCi
Cheers,
James
