It's movies, everyone can play everyone. But even if you want historical accuracy to the fullest, I don't see why can't guys in their 50s play guys in their 30s especially if they're youthful in appearance as Leonardo?

Some make up, don't do close ups in broad daylight, only in night, cabin etc and you're good to go.

It's really a shame that he ends his career (grows old) without playing this role.

All the Hollywood greats did it, Errol Flynn, Clark Gable, Marlon Brando and Mel Gibson.

Tom Hanks is good for being ineffectual leader, if that's the angle you'd w= ant to take on portraying Bligh, then he's a good cast too.

But for me, a rigid, "I have some other shit on my mind, don't bother me, d=

Tom Hanks is good for being ineffectual leader, if that's the angle you'd want to take on portraying Bligh, then he's a good cast too.

But for me, a rigid, "I have some other shit on my mind, don't bother me, do as I tell you" Liam Neeson is just wow.

Maybe Hanks could portray one those crew members stranded on Pitcairn?

Liam Neeson may not be good enough actor for the part. Definitely not a Charles Laughton.
If you want a modern version, with a captain that can't act... you can't
go wrong with Will Smith.

Have you seen "Ice Road: Vengeance"? Wow, Neeson just keeps
getting worse. Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen him
in a decent movie since "Rob Roy" back in the early 90s.

So, I think he'd ruin any serious remake.

Not that my suggestions were serious in any way.
