Watched some YT videos on India. Apparently it's extremely noisy, dirty, smelly, lots of scammers & beggars, nothing works, too much people & one
is likely to get stomach bug & nearly die when eating local food.

Oh yes, apparently also lots of holes in the sidewalks where you can

People piss & shit on the streets. Every place littered with litter.
Pollution everywhere. At least in big cities.

I guess it could be different in some upscale touristy area... Goa?

    Anyway, I'm not going.

Yes, this is one way of massaging statistics to look good for the immigrants... 2nd gen immigrants usually have lower employment than the population.

"In 2023, 74 percent of Indian immigrants ages 16 and older were in the civilian labor force, compared to 63 percent of the U.S. born and 67
    percent of all immigrants."

Misleading. "labor force" doesn't equal working. It just means one is
working or seeking work. For example Raja's wife could be unemployed but
in labor force. His kids could be unemployed but "Americans".

Also, most Indian immigrants to US are likely on work visa. That means
100% works in the beginning. So it's comparing apples and oranges,
especially when many immigrants are recent. The numbers get lower as
    time goes on.

Also, "labor force" can be misleading if that is calculated as everyone
at working age / population.... as immigrants who come working are
naturally younger, not at post retirement age.

In Finland immigrants who come with work visa from other than western countries are typically low skilled workers who work for a while and
then drop to social benefits. Even during the time they work, they spend
    more tax money than contribute.

They also bring their family later, who typically look like this:

Maybe it's different in Finland? In any case, you haven't brought

Besides the data, my experience with Indian immigrants is that
they're very hard-working, dependable, peaceful types and tend to
get and hold on to relatively good jobs. Their American offspring
tend to be under a lot of pressure to get a high education, build
strong families and attain even better jobs. I can't speak for

Misleading. "labor force" doesn't equal working. It just means one is

but in labor force. His kids could be unemployed but "Americans".

However, the chart I provided says *Employed* workers in the civilian
    labor force.

The image (figure 6) doesn't seem to refer to the labor force number 74%

It just displays how Indians who are employed in civilian labor force
are divided between different civilian sectors.

Same with "all immigrants" & "US born"... percentages added up in

Also, most Indian immigrants to US are likely on work visa. That means

Also, "labor force" can be misleading if that is calculated as

studies. May or may not be applicable to US statistics or especially
Indian people. Swedish statistics showed how even 2nd gen immigrants
have higher unemployment & crime compared to native population.

Anyway, it's quite obvious that work visa immigrants have around 100% employment in the beginning but later the numbers drop. In Europe the
numbers drop drastically with MENAP countries which provide in most part
    cheap uneducated labor force.

The problem is also that they use up heavily social safety net

My experience agrees with JDs but it's based on the Indians
surround me or work with me that happen to be mostly IT people.
So definitely I don't know much about the rest of immigrants
coming from different education levels or moving to Europe which
definitely would be different than what I know.
