    Group I standings:
    P Pts GD
    Norway 5 15 +21
    Italy 4 9 +5

    Remaining matches:
    NOR-ISR, NOR-EST, ITA-NOR
    ITA-ISR, MDA-ITA, EST-ITA, ITA-NOR

Italy is not going to make up the goal difference gap: if Norway wins
its two remaining matches against Estonia and Israel, they get first
place. More playoff drama for Italy (in the best of cases)

unless they have no mercy against weak teams, like this: https://www.transfermarkt.com/italia_egipto/index/spielbericht/2687341

Yes, you'd have to back about 100 years to find a match where Italy
piled it on ruthlessly against an overmatched opponent.

To be fair, Italy needs to get to the final match against Norway with
at most a deficit of 6 in terms of goal difference. Then, a 3-0 win
could put the azzurri through depending on number of goals scored --
the 5-4 against Israel helps. The GD gap is currently -16. So, beat
Estonia and Israel by a combined 4 goals more than Norway does, and
then beat Moldova at least 6-0.

    Yeah, not very likely...
