Trying is a big step. Well done for trying.

If you have a close look at the cipher, using a pencil and paper, text
editor, or other method, you'll see there are 166 characters formed from
a mixture of numerical-digits, lower-case letters and a couple of
punctuation marks. There are no upper-case letters and no spaces.

If you count the occurrences of digits and characters, you'll find all numerical digits 0 - 9 are well represented, but only 14 letter
characters. None of the letters most common in the English language are represented. If you know that 'E' is generally the most common letter in English, that will help.

You may note that the sequence '581' occurs five times. If you can think
of a common three letter word, or letter sequence, you could try
substituting the letters of that word for the digits of '581' and see
where that takes you.
