    Do they grow sweet cherries? Thought it was too cold in your area for
    sweet cherries. Sour/pie cherries can be fairly sweet if not picked too
    soon. Often the birds get the really good cherries before they can be
    picked. Never saw a robin or blue jay I liked!

    I live in the Niagara Peninsula which is famous for growing tender
    fruits. We are south of the areas in Michigan and Oregon that are known
    for cherry production. Sour cherries have a very small window of
    readiness for picking. They ripen and they very quickly start to
    deteriorate. They are extremely perishable after picking. They need to
    be used or processed very quickly. Within a couple days they will be
    rotting in the basket.
