Its been 109-115F thee last couple weeks. Temps stayed under 106 the
last few days, and its only 102 right now. On a dry day for those of us
who are used to it that's outdoor weather, but one lousy cloud decided
to hang out over my shop and drop just enough rain so there were no dry
spots between the drops. The overall humidity for the area is only 24%
which is higher than average, but right here at the shop I bet its 80%.

Of course I'm out on the un-airconditioned shop floor tying in a new air dryer.

Before that bastard cloud pissed all over me it was tolerable work. Now
I'm hiding in the office pretending to figure out the next air line
    routing plan.

It's been in the 90's here with humidity in the 70%-80% range . If I
don't get outside stuff done by 10:30 or so it ain't gettin' done .

We've had the same here in NH, until last night when a cold front passed.
    They forecast two nice days.

    Some people... https://raceroster.com/events/2025/88551/2025-death-valley-marathon-half-marathon-and-10k

    If you prefer cold:

No, the polar ice cap hasn't melted, the cruise ship is a heavy duty icebreaker. Tickets cost up to 135,700 Euros ($158,000), 3,000 off for non-runners.

The cruise also offers snow golf. My father won a winter tournament here, aided by me on XC skis making smooth putting tracks. It was all in fun, they left plastic drain pipe that looked like a good putting aid but it was
    plugged in the middle.

Or you could stay home watching nature on TV while jabbing yourself with a pin. I was a distance runner and learned to ignore the pain, good practice
    for growing old.

Predictions are for mid to upper - mostly upper - 90's here for the
next several days . With the usual summer humidity levels at 70% or
    higher .

Up here between the lakes in south central Ontario Canada we've had
several weeks in the high 30s Celcius (low to mid 90sF) with humidity
in the 60s to 90s. Doing ANYTHING outside makes one sweat like a pig. Overnights have been in the mid to high 20sC, so air conditioning has
been a godsend!!! Normal years we get 3 or 4 days at a time a couple
    times each summer -
We HAVE gotten some rain - but all it does is settle the dust a bit
    and raise the humidity

Just one more elbow, and I can finish hooking it up with an industrial
flex line 20 inches to long. LOL.

We appreciate your second-hand Hudson's Bay weather when you pass it on to
us in summer, not so much when it brings -20C in winter.

US science is taught in metric so I'm familiar with it. The TV weather has stopped giving Celsius equivalents, I suspect because the nanny-staters who pushed it couldn't do math in either system. Temperature differences were being blindly looked up as temperatures which were wildly wrong, such as converting 4 degrees F cooler tomorrow to -20C.

What is the Canadian explanation for that chain of lakes running northwest from the Great Lakes to the Yukon? Wiki claims they were scooped out by the last glaciers. I wonder if the glaciers merely scooped fill from existing depressions. The Monteregian hills are at the start of a line of depressions and volcano remains running into the Atlantic at Portsmouth NH and ending at
    a hot spot off Africa.
