I removed the lever pulled out the brake inner cable and the shirf5 inner cable which is so difficult to do that you would think that it was never meant to be removed.I then removed the hood which was a real pain. You woulds think that the hood would tear but the rubber is very high quality.
I have to find a piece of mahogony into which I carved a relief tht fits the casing so that I can use a punch of the correct diameter to punch out the brake lever hinge pin. Then next Tuesday the rebuild kit should arrive and I insert the brake lever and pin and wrestle the hood into plsce. I ordered some new shift outers but I may simply use Shimano black outers. I may also use the (from the front) left exit and the entrance hole for the brake cable is large enough to pole the shift outer through next to the brake outer. That rough also makes it FAR easier to replace shift inners without destroying them.
So it's only a atter of time.
