I got the Madter on the work stand and discovered that the left (front derailleur) mechanism is stripped and cannot move the front derailleur very far. So I ordered a new rebuid kit which is the entire lever minus the brake lever and the hood. Being new it will also have the newer and better shifting mechanism that is on all of the other 11 speed shifters I have. The right shifter works fine and cleanly shifts up and down through all of the gears. In low gear it does make some noise as if the limit screw has to ber adnusted but it foes appear that the idler pulley is actually touching. After the left lever is repaired and woeking I will make sure that all of the adjustments are correct.
The Chain is a Super Record too and I had to cut out two full links to take out tge slack at 34-11. Rather than a quick link, it had the normal campy replacement pin and my Park Tool chain breaker worked just fine in installing the eplacement pin. But this means that I will have to break the chain to work on it.
I younger brother just bought a Time Team Machine like mine and Ultegra parts to make it work. I could not talk him out of buying some slightly used Kyseriums since I have a set of deep carbon wheels and he rides fast enough for the deep wheels to make a difference. At 200 lbs I am too heavy for Kyseriums and they are not aero. But my brother is light enough that they will be safe. Buying wheels is something of an art.
One important thing I noticed yesterday - MOST of the cheap quick release skewers do not lock properly and somehow I misplaced the back skewer for the Shamal mounted on the Colnago. It won't lock properly and I have had to buy a used Shamal rear skewer which is expensive as hell.
I know that as soon as I install the new one, that I will discover the oritinal but that's the breaks of the big time. My Aliverti steelbike weights only 21 lbs without water in the bottles. And the Colnago is significantly heavier than that but it is still lighter than anythintg that bothers ne. And the hangling of the Colnago Master is, from memory, as good as the Time.
As the Colnago is finshed and riden I will let you know any defects in the ride which I don't expect to find.

Open cam wheel skewers benefit greatly from a drop of oil. That is a good piece of advice, but the problem eith the Chinese skewers is that they do not have the locking portion in the correct place. They continue to tighten whereas Campy tightens only so far and not any further. So with Campy you sre forced to det the "off side" to the proper position and the lever side tightens it up to the proper tension and no further. The Chinese rear skewer on my Colnago was still slipping when it felt tight. At the same tension on the lever, the Campy skewers don't slip if that makes any sense.
