Conditions were about normal with a headeind on the way out and a tailwind on the way back. I took a different route so that I had more headwind than tailwind.
But I was feeling pretty good and while last week at 65% max heart rate I was barely doibg 11 mph, today at 61% average I was doing over 12 mph average.
I am still having trouble with my eyesight and the Binocular Vision Clinic at UC Berkeley still hasn't called with an appointment to see if my double vision is treatabke hopefully with glasses.
Because I only have useable vision in my right eye I have very poor depth perception and nearly ran off of the pathway into gravel moving along at about 17 mph. I managed to just balance on the very edge of the pavement.
So far this month I have 272 miles and this is likely to be a low rain year around here. But of course that is what they said a couple of years ago when all of the local reservoirs filled to the maximum volumn.
I was working on the Colnago Master X Lite quite a bit yesterday including switching out the carbon brake shoes on the DeRosa Merak for the Super Record rim brakes I am moving over to the Colnago. I installed Record rim brakes on the Merak so I had to put the Campagnolo Carbon Rim brakes into those holders. I've said it before but I will repeat it - with those Campy carbon brake shoes installed, full carbon rim brakes work as well as normal shoes on aluminum brake surfaces. Well set up disc brakes work very well but only slightly better and you don't have to have all that complication and extra weight using properly set up rim brakes.
I probably could ride better without this pot gut that I developed with two months of not ring after my stroke but nothing I do seems to budge it. I presently only eat one meal a day and some snacks in the evening. I don't like to eat after 4 pm because my digestion is so slow that I can get indigestion after I go to bed 9:30 to 10.
