For anyone interested, NovaBBS seems to be defunct. The home page works
but any attempt to look at specific boards returns any one of a variety
    of error codes.

Narkive seems to be in similar straits, as the last updates seem to have
    been two months ago.

If you're interested in somewhere to search RBT postings, the next best resource seems to be go-pugleaf

Thanks. Narkive and NovaBBS have been either dead or erratic for
about 2 months. I noticed, but didn't post anything to
    rec.bicycles.tech because I didn't have a suitable replacement.

Unfortunately, my first search in RockSolid resulted in:

    Find specific content across newsgroups
    Note:
    - Search for 'Group Names Only ' works.
    - Searching for content does NOT work!

For my use, RockSolid isn't suitable without a functional search
    function.

I also wasted some time with UsenetArchive.com: <https://www.usenetarchives.com/threads.php?id=rec.bicycles.tech>
For rec.bicycles.tech, the most recent article was in 1992.

I'm resisting the temptation to setup an NNTP server, with a web
interface and search for just one newsgroup and maybe 10 users. It's
too much work, I don't have the bandwidth, and I don't want to deal
    with the inevitable user complaints.

This looks like a possible alternative because it's web based and
    offers search:
    <https://www.easynews.com>
$10/month (assuming I understand they pricing).

    Consider yourself informed

    Today, I'm feeling deformed.

with the disclosure I used to work there:

    panix.com

basic is just ten dollars/month, hundred if prepaying for a year.

Full service ISP. E-mail, basic web hosting, usenet..

    (lots more available)

Thanks. Does Panix offer Web based online search of their Usenet
archive? I don't need NNTP service because I already have that
    through Individual.net:
    <https://individual.net>
What I need is to be able to do a keyword search through
rec.bicycles.tech going back to at least when Google gave up on Usenet
(Feb 15, 2024). Actually, going back before that would be better
because the Google Groups Usenet archive indexing seems to be
    corrupted.

I could probably do that with my current setup, but simply downloading everything on individual.net back to that data, and doing the
searching on my desktop computer. However, that doesn't allow me to
post a link to specific postings for others to inspect. Therefore, it
would need to be accessible by everyone in rec.bicycles.tech and not
    just me.
