IMDB gives it 6.5 but I think it deserves higher.

It will make more sense if you watch it from the beginning. ;-)

I started it up in the middle of the night and saw it from the beginning through the plane crash before falling asleep.

Today I’m dealing with the fact that the DMV destroyed the records of the citizenship of hundreds of thousands of Arizona and unless we can prove
we’re citizens again we won’t be allowed to vote anymore.

There aren’t a lot of details coming out beyond being called a glitch. Apparently, if you got an Arizona drivers license before 1998 and didn’t subsequently get real ID or Arizona enhanced ID then your proof of
citizenship was erased. It’s hard to imagine you could program that on purpose much less by accident.

Yeah, except county employees and DMV workers are pretty much on the side
of people who don’t want proof of citizenship to be required to vote.

They’re just saying it was a “glitch“ in the system. I don’t believe them.

Also, they’re making you mail in physical copies of the proof just to make
it more difficult and expensive and they aren’t taking anything you’d expect the DMV to take like your drivers license.

To quote National Lampoon‘s Animal House:

We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons,
but that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have
to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really
futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part!

I won't spoil any more of the plot. Suffice it to say that there's lot

I enjoyed the fact that they acknowledged they were in a punning contest
and working to come up with new ones.

It's not going to win any awards for realism but I enjoyed myself and I think you will too.

IMDB gives it 6.5 but I think it deserves higher.

    Agreed.

Hey, BTR, did you ever get to ride in “The Beast“?

The Amazon front loaded the commercials so it effectively ran ad free and
then started just auto showing me movies that it thought I would like. The
next one was The Marine also starring John Cena. It was pretty good. I had
seen the last five minutes or so of it before. The women in it were
awesomely hot. Then it showed Cowboys and Aliens which I had never seen.
Then it launched the 2016 version of The Magnificent Seven.

Backups: Well, they might have but they waited over six months before
even telling anyone so the backups may have been overwritten. Assuming,
of course, that they didn't penny pinch into oblivion a records backup system....

DMV: Because most states made the RealID verification part of the DMV's responsibility. That's where I had to go to get mine in California.

Fed Elections: Because this whole pile of fecal matter is intended to
prevent "illegals" from voting. If half the state's legal voters get disenfranchised to do that, its just acceptable (intended) collateral

I might mention that the Arizona Republic has just been making shit up as
far back as I can remember. In fact, they apparently intentionally put
mistakes into AP articles. I used to read Dave Barry‘s column online before it made it to the Republic and the Republic would change things to make
them mean the exact opposite. I think they must’ve had some hazing routine where they made interns retype everything and they got it wrong.

When my mother died, they actually told me I couldn’t cancel the
subscription to her paper. I came very very very, very, very close to going down to the office and killing that woman.

And nobody has backups of any of their files apparently. And why is the DMV
safeguarding my citizenship status in the first place? And how come I’ll >>>> still be allowed to vote in federal elections just not local? And without >>>> proof of citizenship, can I even flee to Canadia?

Backups: Well, they might have but they waited over six months before
even telling anyone so the backups may have been overwritten. Assuming, >>> of course, that they didn't penny pinch into oblivion a records backup
    system....

DMV: Because most states made the RealID verification part of the DMV's
responsibility. That's where I had to go to get mine in California.

I might mention we didn’t even get real ID until about six weeks ago.
Before then we had something you could pay $25 for but it wasn’t federally >> compliant and really didn’t do anything except raise money for the DMV.

So Arizona decided none of its residents were allowed to fly?

You don’t actually have to have real ID to fly you can get around it with other documents like passports and such. Having the Arizona enhanced ID was exactly the same as having nothing except you were $25 lighter. Of those articles I linked to may have mentioned it. A democratic governor, Janet Napolitano, actually put something in place to keep us from complying with
real ID due to “privacy concerns”

Fed Elections: Because this whole pile of fecal matter is intended to
    prevent "illegals" from voting.

Probably the exact opposite. We tend to emulate California in these things. >>
NO STATE allows non-citizens to vote in Federal elections and the number
of instances of it happening are generally in the single digits in any
    given election.

We compensate by having the post office steel mail in ballots both incoming
and outgoing. In the presidential election four years ago they found 20,000 mail in ballots in the desert near my house where they had been dumped and burned. There was an initial report on that and then nobody said anything
    more about it. Ever.

Informed mail service or whatever the hell it’s called sends me emails of
my incoming mail, like ballots and census forms, but they never actually physically arrive. This last presidential election was the first ballot I
had gotten in something like 12 years.

State elections are the state's business, not the Federal Governments.

And yet this is the county stripping us of our voting rights on behalf of
    the motor vehicle division.

My point was, if the federal government still thinks I’m a citizen, why isn’t this good enough for the freaking county?

If half the state's legal voters get
disenfranchised to do that, its just acceptable (intended) collateral
    damage.

Canada: What makes you think Canada wants you and would let you in?

I could tell them I’m a draft dodger

    From the Civil War? :P

These antique reruns of to tell the truth have amusing frauds like a woman
who wrote a book about a remote village in Russia on the edge of the Black
Sea, where the people routinely live into their mid hundreds and are still working out plowing the fields at 120 (in my opinion, that is not an
incentive to live longer). This was debunked decades ago by common sense.
These people would’ve been born before the American Civil War (which is why you made me think of this). Remote villages on the Black Sea in the 1840s didn’t exactly have birth certificates. How would these people possibly
prove how old they were? I did some searching and Wikipedia on the village
and they don’t even mention this nonsense anymore.

Personally at this point with all the "election fraud" male bovine
digestive end product coming out of Arizona (for censored sake, they are >>> STILL trying to overturn the 2020 election results there!) I'm in favor
of returning Arizona to Mexico. The Mexicans would almost certainly run >>> a cleaner election.

Hard to imagine but quite possibly true.

You donrCOt actually have to have real ID to fly you can get around it with other documents like passports and such.

In reality, no ID is technically required to fly. From the beginning, TSA had to develop procedures to deal with people who showed up at the airport with no ID at all.

What were they going to say to a woman from Ohio who was on vacation in Hawaii and had her purse stolen with all her ID and credit cards and everything else in it? "We're so sorry that happened to you, ma'am, but without ID you can't fly. I guess you're a resident of Hawaii now. You should just go buy a house and start a new life here." Or maybe, "You can't fly, but if you go down to Pearl Harbor, you should be able to book passage on a cargo ship which will
get you to California in three weeks."

So no, if you show up with a regular DL or even no ID at all, there are procedures in place to allow you to fly. They take a *lot* longer and involve you sitting in a back office while they query a bunch of databases and make phone calls to your employer and/or neighbors and basically do a background check on you, so you should plan on arriving at the airport *very* early if
you want to make the flight, but you will be able to eventually get through
    and onto the plane.

NO STATE allows non-citizens to vote in Federal elections and the number >> of instances of it happening are generally in the single digits in any

We're in our 5th year of California's "everyone gets a ballot in the mail" shit-show and I have yet to ever receive one. This last election, when I
showed up at the polls to vote, their little computer told them that not only was one mailed to me, but that someone had used it and it showed I'd already voted. (How much you want to bet that ballot was cast for Kamala and all the other Democrats on the slate?) I had to cast a provisional ballot that they eventually told me was counted. One assumes that means the other ballot and
its votes were nullified, but that wasn't explicitly stated in the
notification I got, so who knows?
