I agree that this was a long overdue recognition of the important work
done by character actors. I wish he'd spent more time on the character
actors from earlier eras of film but, given his age, I assume these were
all too long ago for his tastes.
And I really wish he'd omitted Jennifer Coolidge from his list of great character actors. I thought she was utterly toxic every time she
appeared in Two Broke Girls and I counted the seconds until she was
finally off the screen again. (Not that Two Broke Girls was a work of
art itself but Beth Behr was nice to look at.)
