Late night TV is something largely lost to time. Television as a medium has been in decline for well over a decade and the way we now consume content, anything is available on demand anytime you like. We can watch whatever, whenever, wherever we want. Channel surfing has been replaced with
scrolling, streaming. Id wager the reason a lot of you are here is for Sleepcore, which is late night coded. Its produced in a way that simulates the experience of drifting in and out of sleep in front of a television, dreams, media, memories. Recently we started this series where we
deconstruct Sleepcore and in this video we are going to be looking at the comforting weirdness of late night TV and how its influenced the the idea
of Sleepcore. We will be talking aesthetics, how and why certain clips are chosen, the emotional impact of insomnia, and finding calmness in the rhythms of late night TV.
