Out of all the categories that I voted in (I did not vote for novel or
the fan categories) this is the only one where the overall body of
Hugo voters chose the same work as I ranked first. Which is, to be
honest, par for the course -- I am apparently quite unusual in my
    preferences among WSFS members.

I forgot to save a copy of my ballot, but I know that I had this as my
first choice in the Novel category.

The administrators reported that there were several categories that had
very narrow wins, including 1 one vote difference. I await the formal
    full report.

I really enjoyed this with the highlight being the world building as
described through the abilities and behaviours of the misfit altered
mind as agent for the detective but Alien Clay by Tchaikovsky was just
    as enjoyable. Both four stars.
