What could possibly go wrong with a little harmless Satanism between
    friends?

I believe this book is an early example of how I've benefitted from
reading this newsgroup. A great many years ago, you and a few others
    warned me off reading it.

    Thanks again!

I seem to remember a discussion, which may not
have been here, of that remarkable cover, its
treatment of female costume, and myself at least,
overlooking that the monster also is posed above
a stylised futuristic cityscape, and so evidently
it is very large. On the occasion which I'm
so poorly recalling, deficiencies in the text
may have been not especially mentioned when
attention was being given instead to the artwork.

This reminds me that a blog mocking cover art
    existed as <https://x.com/goodshowsir>
but this enterprise apparently currently exists
    instead as <https://www.librarything.com/ngroups/24253/Good-Show-Sir%21-—-bad-science-fiction-and-fantasy-covers>
and the blog referred to as "the old place"
is not in wotking order. "The old place" may
be the venue I'm thinking of.
