This is another tale of the Detroit Free Zone* in which
Opal Yong-ae is attempting to break the curse placed on
her by her adoptive step-father the Great Dragon of Korea
Yong. She probably correctly believes that Yong wants her
as a possession rather than a person. Yong is very friendly
these days with humans and has quite a cadre of people
to serve his desires and needs. He made quite a big mistake
when he invested his "fire" in the curse he placed on Opal.
Opal is quite involved with Nik, a cyborg with armor over
much of his tender body parts. He used to be a hit man
and has many enemies. Eventually Opal attenuates the
curse to the extreme discomfiture of Great Yong. His
Evil Sister White Snake nearly kills him as a result.
And Opal finds out what she has doing wrong with her
magic!
*DFZ - Detroit Free Zone where the spirit of the City
is called DFZ. She is a local God who rearranges the
city to her liking whenever the mood hits. She has some
clergy. She is trying to recruit another.
