appears that the hormone therapy is working for the moment.

When I was 18, a doctor assured me that I was so overweight that if I
did not immediately lose 50 pounds and keep it off, I would be dead
before I reached 30. He also provided a 1400 Calorie diet which, of
course, we could not afford.
Imagine my surprise when I woke up, clearly alive, the day after I
turned 30. And my dismay at suddenly having to plan for a much longer
life.
After giving the matter much thought, I have come to the conclusion
that these lies (for that is what they are) are lies because they are incomplete. I could, at any time between 18 and 30, have been run over
by a car in such a way that how much I weighed would have had nothing
to do with it. All such predictions must be understood to include, at
a minimum, "unless you die of something else first". And, in some
cases, "unless, of course, you don't, because this is /statistical/
result and you may turn out to be in the cohort that lives past that
point".
It is nice to know that he made it longer than his doctor thought.
