    'Star Trek: Starfleet Academy' Sets Release Date as Stephen Colbert
    Joins Series, 'Strange New Worlds' Season 4 Drops First-Look Clip

    "Star Trek: Starfleet Academy" has set its premiere date on
    Paramount+.

    The new series will debut with its first two episodes on Jan. 15,
    2026, with new episodes dropping weekly thereafter through March 12.
    The announcement was made during the "Star Trek" Universe panel at
    New York Comic-Con on Saturday.

    In addition, it was revealed during the panel that Stephen Colbert
    is officially part of the show - at least, his voice is. Colbert
    will voice Starfleet Academy's Digital Dean of Students, giving
    daily announcements to the students and alerting them of anything
    that needs their immediate attention.

    Paramount has also dropped a new trailer for the series, which can

    As previously announced, "Starfleet Academy" has already been
    renewed for a second season. This week also marks the launch of
    StarfleetAcademy.com, where fans can explore the Academy's campus
    life, academics and faculty.


    "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" was also featured on the panel,
    including a new first-look clip from the show's upcoming fourth
    season. The show has already been renewed for a fifth and final
    season at Paramount+.

    "Starfleet Academy" stars Holly Hunter as the Chancellor of
    Starfleet Academy, with the Starfleet cadets played by Sandro
    Rosta, Karim Diane Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins and Bella
    Shepard. Zoe Steiner, Tig Notaro, Robert Picardo also star along
    with guest stars Oded Fehr, Mary Wiseman, with recurring guest
    stars Gina Yashere and Paul Giamatti.

    The logline for the series states that it "introduces viewers to a
    young group of cadets who come together to pursue a common dream
    of hope and optimism. Under the watchful and demanding eyes of
    their instructors, they discover what it takes to become Starfleet
    officers as they navigate blossoming friendships, explosive
    rivalries, first loves and a new enemy that threatens both the
    Academy and the Federation itself."

    Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau serve as co-showrunners and
    executive produce the series alongside executive producers Gaia
    Violo, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Jenny Lumet, Rod
    Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Frank Siracusa and John Weber. The
    series' premiere episode is written by Gaia Violo and directed by
    Alex Kurtzman. It is produced by CBS Studios in association with
    Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. The series is
    distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

    Season 4 of "Strange New Worlds" stars Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn,
    Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa
    Navia, Babs Olusanmokun and Martin Quinn, along with guest star
    Carol Kane, plus special guest star Paul Wesley.

    Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers serve as co-showrunners.
    Kurtzman, Goldsman, Myers, Aaron Baiers, Dana Horgan, Alan McElroy,
    Robbie Thompson, Siracusa, Weber, Chris Fisher, Mount, Roddenberry
