A vendor who was selling AI-generated images was expelled from Dragon
Con, and the police were called in.

The person doesn't seem to have violated any policy, and there's no explanation of why the police were needed. I haven't seen anything
indicating that the vendor was uncooperative or even was notified before
    the cops came.

I've learned of another case of police being called to a convention in a matter related to an exhibitor using AI. In this case, it was protests
that prompted the call, and by one protester's admission, the cop was
more reasonable than the protesters. In both cases, there's no
indication the exhibitor was violating any rules. There were assertions
of plagiarism by the exhibitors, but they lack specifics, and in any
case you don't normally handle plagiarism issues by calling the cops.
Here's my blog post on both situations:

Actually, DragonCon's contract with artists and vendors prohibits AI
artwork from being sold in the Comic and Pop Artist Alley: <https://file770.com/pixel-scroll-9-1-25-the-scroll-that-launched-a-thousand-pixels/>

Watching the video on this one, I think the cops were just there on
standby in case something broke out. Nothing did, and everything was
calm... the convention staff spoke with the vendor and the vendor packed
up and went home and the police went back to where they came from.

I gather the vendor was not too polite online afterward, but they have
a right to be impolite even though it might not be good for their
    business reputation.
