Those strikes on the Hamas delegation in Doha, Qatar have crossed a line. Qatar was supposed to offer safe, neutral ground where warring sides could meet to negotiate an end to hostilities -- not just for the Israel-Hamas conflict, but for other matters elsewhere in the world as well. It is also supposed to be under the protection of the USA, with a big base hosting US forces on its soil.

How do you negotiate with someone who tries to kill the negotiating team?
How do you act as an intermediary in negotiations with a party that has no respect for your security and sovereignty?

Will the US act now, to rein in the murderous activities of the Netanyahu regime? Or will it just wring its hands and continue with what it is
currently doing -- i.e. nothing -- and further sacrifice its credibility
and standing, not just in that region, but in the rest of the world, just
to keep the primacy of Israel sacrosanct, and well above its own national interests?
