Remember, his was a country that didnrCOt want to get involved in that war, and was quite happy to continue friendly diplomatic relations with the murderous Nazi regime, while Britain basically stood alone for about two
years against the threat of a German invasion.

So yes, history does repeat itself in a way, but perhaps the parallel
takes a form that ole Hucky might not like ...

His country also did all right out of the top scientists who drove the
Reich's technological advances - a rather ironic example of refugees
being scientists and engineers in fact.

It is important to understand, however, that Britain did lose World War
2 and the entire West is losing World War 3.
