An interesting remark from a commentator on the local news a few minutes
ago: when politicians heavily supported by conspiracy theorists get into
power and are in a position to rCLblow the lidrCY on some obsession of theirs, any suggestion that the rCLconspiracyrCY wasnrCOt all it was cracked up to be tends to lead to the feeling among their supporters that those politicians have sold out and become part of the conspiracy themselves.
And when those politicians have wantonly built up expectations about forthcoming revelations during their campaigning, and continued to do so
after getting into power and getting access to the relevant records, in
short until the last possible minute before supposedly discovering the
truth -- that just amplifies the paranoia about their sudden change of
heart.
In short, if Trump was actually part of some conspiracy, and had
deliberately conned his followers into getting him into power so he could cover up the truth, he couldnrCOt have done a better job of it.
