• Guidance for Government

Seen on Facebook (attributed to John Wesley but I suspect that is not
    true . . .) :

Reduce the gap between rich people and poor people
Help everyone to have a job
Help the poorest, including introducing a living wage
    Offer the best possible education
Help everyone to feel that they can make a difference
    Promote tolerance
    Promote equal treatment for women
Create a society based on values and not on profits and consumerism
    End all forms of slavery
    Avoid getting into wars
Share the love of God with everyone
    Care for the environment

I would only change one of them - the second to last could be "Share
love with everyone" - a majority of New Zealanders claimed in the last
    census to have no religion.

How many of those excellent aims or principles are being met by the
current government - do they actually believe any of them?

Not enough but siginificantly more than the last government.

    How?

Help everyone to have a job

We do that. If not abolish WINZ.

Help the poorest, including introducing a living wage

    Done already, but voluntarily.

    Offer the best possible education

An impossible proposition. We nominally provide the best education
    that taxpayers can afford.

Help everyone to feel that they can make a difference

    Not possible - political rhetoric.

    Promote tolerance

    Political rhetoric.

    Promote equal treatment for women

    Agreed.

Create a society based on values and not on profits and consumerism

    Political rhetoric.

    End all forms of slavery
    Avoid getting into wars
Share the love of God with everyone

Political rhetoric. Name any political party in NZ that campaigns on
the necessity of slavery, wars and God.

    Care for the environment

NZ does by and large, but northern hemisphere countries do not.

I would only change one of them - the second to last could be "Share
love with everyone" - a majority of New Zealanders claimed in the last
    census to have no religion.

How many of them have been met by any Government of any colour? Your
statement belies the fact that your stance is political rhetoric, as
    always.
