NovaBBS GUI is ... better in letting me see many posts (of the Thread) on

There is a new project at https://rocksolid-us.pugleaf.net/hierarchies
which says it's aiming to be the successor to rslight/novaBBS. Right now
it seems to only have very old postings online, but once they get all the historical data loaded it may be a useful option.

Well that's only 497 groups. Newsgrouper provides access to all the
groups on eternal-september, currently 26355, and including all those
listed. (Of course many of those 26355 are dead or full of crap, but
I leave that judgement to the users. EfyA)

This 497 were only the groups from novabbs web.
i2pn2.org carried around 42k via nntp
That's most of the ISC list.
