Q: Do you think it's finally time for Apple to deprecate Webkit?
Idiot. It's an open source project. They can't deprecate it.
The fact is that Apple *mandates* its use across all browsers on iOS where
we already know two facts which are inherently against using webkit.
Every browser on iOS is forced to use WebKit under the hood, which means Chrome, Firefox and all others are essentially just skins over Safari.
FACT 1: Webkit is less secure (which the Tor project openly states).
FACT 2: Webkit is less secure (where it has *many* zero-day holes).
Well, that's one fact.
FACT: Webkit is a security hole waiting to happen (again & again).
For security, Apple should loosen its grip to allow other engines on iOS.
But since when has Apple ever really cared about security?
