Is rumoured to be priced at $949. Who is it for?

I genuinely thought it would come in below the base 17, but at that price
who is going to buy. Not that I'm interested in it at all.

At over a thousand bucks (with typical sales tax in the USA) I suspect
Apple marketing has aimed it at the brand loyalists or early adopters who
want to brag about having a new iPhone in between pro/max/ultra frills.

(Actually, Android will always cost less due to vastly lower TCO/TOC...)
