How We Got Started
My business grew out of a long-time career working with computers; using them (desktop publishing and printing) and selling them. As time went
on, I discovered I liked helping others make their systems work better
for them more than anything else.
Recently, bakerMEDIA has added personnel to allow us to offer website creation and support.
<End Quote>
If that last sentence is true why are you looking for work on LinkedIn?
Or is that statement a lie?

Another deflection. That tells me all I need to know. You will not
answer a direct question when it would be embarrassing. Ergo, the answer
is that per what YOU put in LinkedIn YOU are aggressively looking for
work. Is it just for fun? Not likely.
Hope you don't lose your puny condo.

home value is about US$500k. The current exchange rate puts that at
about Can$700k. Supply a source that shows your condo worth that. Price
is not the only value. My 700 sq ft basement is larger than your condo.
My 2 car garage is about the same size as your condo. We have front and

I am not referring to property tax assessed value. I checked actual

Here is one that is actually larger than yours in the same neighborhood, $509,000:

Yes, post the Redfin or Zillow estimated value as shown to you.
Maybe they translate to $US if the site is pulled up from here???
Or maybe the assessed value for property tax is completely out of
line with actual prices in Vancouver, Asshole.
I am not referring to property tax assessed value. I checked actual
current listings for comparable properties in your neighborhood. Lots
of studio condos for sale in the CAN $350-$550k range.
Here is one that is actually larger than yours in the same

You think a first floor condo on the flat ground with no view whatsoever

ocean and the mountains?

A known shortcoming of sites like Zillow & RedFin are that their
property value estimate algorithm becomes less & less useful the longer
& longer it has been since a property's been listed for sale, due to
lack of contemporary data on what the property has.
For example, checking my own property, Zillow has major data voids:
- *no data* for how many bedrooms;
- *no data* for how many bathrooms;
- listed square footage is understated.-a Appears to be the original,
which doesn't include subsequent construction(s) where it increased;
- claimed lot size doesn't appear to match the tax map.
...yet nevertheless tries to claim a 'market' price.

Did you even read the posts?
I'm showing actual listings too.
Zillow and Redfin both state that values are estimated based on
comparable sales and known property characteristics.
On the Zillow map site for a not-for-sale home in my neighborhood:
"This is the Zestimate-<, Zillow's estimated market value for a home.
ItrCOs computed using a proprietary formula, as well as public and user- submitted data. Updating your home facts can help make your Zestimate
more accurate. A Zestimate is not an official appraisal, but is a
starting point in determining a home's value."
The estimated values in our area do reflect recent sales. Unless you
update your home data Zillow has no way of knowing current numbers.
In Alan's case there is little room for meaningful improvements of his condo.

months, not sold.

Really? Great mountain and water view, but 887 sq ft, $649,000. Very
nicely appointed too. On site for 78 days, not sold. $778/sq ft prorated
to your 500 sq ft is $389,000.

These are real listing that would compete with your place.
