Fedora is up to 6.16.9. They are waiting until Fedora 43 before going to
6.17. I tried to upgrade to the 43 beta and it failed on some repositories
but I didn't bother troubleshooting it. All things in good time. The
schedule is 10/28 if no last minute problems are discovered.

    It will support Hare. Whoopee.

I had to look that up. I assume you mean the system language,
    and not the filesystem.

So this is your idea of a substantive discussion?

You may as well post an audio of your own farts.

The language. I wasn't even aware of it until I read the Fedora release
notes for 43. Perhaps it can be used with Pike. Pike and Hare sounds like
    an olde English pub.

I'll show my lack of cultural sensitivity or some other flaw by saying at least the documentation is in English. When I poked at Ruby many moons ago almost everything was in Japanese. Ruby on Rails made it more accessible
but I never did anything with that. A friend did and found it didn't scale
    at all well.

Changelogs will be somewhere on kernel.org, but (weirdly) for major
releases, they aren't on the front page as they are found
for minor releases. (One might even have to git clone Linux,
then git-log between the release that 6.17 jump off from,
    and the current release.)

I don't think there are actual release notes for kernels, just
    for distributions.

Meanwhile, a few of the rest of us had a relatively
    sane conversation about it.

Fluid Fart is just envious that he didn't think to start
a conversation about 6.17, since his distro hasn't offered
    it to him yet.
