• Free Software Foundation (FSF) Turns 40

    From Nux Vomica@nv@linux.rocks to comp.os.linux.advocacy on Tue Sep 30 20:25:00 2025
    From Newsgroup: comp.os.linux.advocacy

Very soon, the FSF will have been in existence for 40
    years:

    https://www.fsf.org/fsf40/

    That's 40 fucking years.

How many of you fucking freeloaders and despicable moochers
have shown your appreciation via a membership or donation?

    Huh? How many?

Y'all, and your degenerate Ubuntu/Mint/Fedora/Arch, make me
    fucking sick.

I hope y'all get kissed by a bus.

Oh *now* you wanna talk about "fucking freeloaders", after you
complained about being asked to support LO, dumbass. You contradict
yourself, you contradict common sense with your caseless Gentoo box,
stripped bare software-wise because you get some fetishistic pleasure
from a lame computer, you hallucinate that having a Xeon CPU and
perfectly compiled code will make a real difference, meanwhile you won't
use an SSD, it's just laughable. If you were *trying* to make Linux enthusiasts look insane, you'd be succeeding, but fortunately, you're
not what most people are like, you're a weirdo and that's all you'll
    ever be.

Very good points. Who does he think he's fooling?

And I'm pretty sure I've been a Free Software Foundation member
    longer than the aptly-named "Vomica".

Are there no other contributors to this NG beyond these two
    "asshole buddies?"

And I mean that both literally and figuratively.

I had a friend tell me the other day that Gentoo Sux! We were talking
about a football game and all of the sudden, out of nowhere, he just
    casually mentioned that Gentoo Sux!

I laughed, he laughed, and then we started talking about the game again.

It's a well-known fact that "Gentoo sucks" was the password
to get into the speakeasies of the '20s.

Okay seriously, I think the problem is that everybody
I've ever come across that raves about Gentoo has been
a flaming asshole with delusions of grandeur.

Diddly-Squat, or whatever he calls himself this minute,
might want to get himself checked for syphilis -- it's just
a couple of blood tests, and it might not be too late
    to get it treated.

I agree with all of this. It would be beneficial for Gentoo if they could somehow prevent people like Farley from being able to use their distro.
I'm not sure how they could do it.

Maybe have all people who wish to download the .iso to fill out a questionnaire determining if they are an angry, resentful, pathetic,
retard with violent tendencies and buck teeth.
