• Joel causes Windows 11 to go beserk

Seems awful odd that as soon as Joel gets a new Windows 11 setup, they
start sending out updates that wipe drives and disappear them.

Maybe Joel isn't an insane nut-ball twirling around in his own gonzo
reality. They may really be out to get him and will go to any lengths to
do it, no matter how much collateral damage other, normal, users have to endure.

Thanks a fucking lot, Joel; I'm sure Windows users couldn't be any happier that you have put this on them.

I was sleeping early last night, I'm still here, Win11 is fine.

    For now, thank goodness.

But, have you already done the update in question? When I first started reading your posts, I thought you were batshit crazy and ready to be institutionalized. Then I see stuff like this, coinciding with the time
period that you just happen to obtain a Windows box and I think, maybe he isn't crazy.

Maybe *they* are out to get him.

    ========================================
*Nature of the Issue: The update KB5063878 is causing storage devices to vanish from File Explorer, Device Manager, and sometimes even the BIOS, leading to input/output errors and potential data corruption.
The problem is not limited to a single brand or controller type, though
it appears more prevalent on SSDs with Phison controllers, particularly DRAM-less models.

Trigger Conditions: The issue is triggered by sustained write operations
of around 50GB or more on drives already over 60% full, commonly occurring during the installation of large software packages like PC games.
Microsoft's Response: Microsoft has acknowledged the reports and is
actively investigating the problem with its hardware partners.

As of August 26, 2025, no official fix has been released, and the issue
is not yet listed on Microsoft's Windows Release Health page.
Recommended Actions: Users are strongly advised to immediately uninstall
the KB5063878 update if installed, back up all critical data, and avoid
large file transfers until a fix is available.

The recommended steps involve using the Windows Update history to
uninstall the update and pausing future updates to prevent
    reinstallation.*

Dunno, if that update was applied it hasn't harmed my system.
