Any preferences here - and why?

Samsung Wallet only works with Samsung devices but not on my ancient
Samsung Gear S3 and probably also not because I am not based in US.

So I use Google Wallet ("Google Pay" was renamed) which works fine and >>>> can even be used in newer smartwatches if they are based on WearOS like >>>> Ticwatch Pro 5.

The ability to pay by smartwatch is very handy - I use it nearly all
the time. It has an additional advantage - when paying bills to young
counter assistants or waiters, they can't believe that an old geezer
of 80 can understand the technology when they frequently struggle
with it. I like to score the odd point for the old folk when I can
    <grin>

Heh. You have convinced me :-D

I tried to activate the feature in my fitbit charge 6. At the last step
it failed and said to contact my bank. :-(

I was in the parking lot of a supermarket, and it occured to me to try
again; same thing. Then I thought that perhaps it was not an app
problem, but a bank problem. So I tried with the card of another bank,
that I seldom use. Bingo! Added to the watch easily. Well, I had to ask
google where to add a card to fitbit, because it is hidden. Today menu,
then tap on the watch icon top-left, then on the watch device, then
"google", which in the small print says "wallet".

Then I tried to activate it in the watch, still inside my car. Huh, it
asks for a pin. What pin? It said nothing of a pin. Ask google again.
Yes, there is one. Set it up. Then check the phone. Right, pin accepted.
It is cumbersome to enter a pin there. A mistake when tapping, I have to restart, dunno how to erase the last digit. Huh, it is still active, an
hour later. How do I turn it off? [asking chatgpt] AH! It continues
active till you remove the watch from your wrist. That's cute!

Anyway, I entered the supermarket a second time, bought something, and
paid with the watch. Warm feeling. ;-)

Although it is not the card and bank I prefer to do normal payments with.
