Will We Need To Watch Ads Before Opening Our Refrigerators?

    [snip youtube link]

Yes. And a (near) future update will be that it will ony cool its contents
as long as you keep looking at the advertisements, and respond when you are cued to do so (to block all those "1000 yard stare" thieves)

You have a job and you can't spend hours infront of your fridge and also
need to sleep ? Tough luck, you agreed to do so on page 314 of the
fridges eula. Get on it or we'll sue.

And oh yes, your crap is rather off-topic and unwanted in at least two of
the three newsgroups you x-posted in.

    Regards,
    Rudy Wieser

    faith in the world.

Technically, all appliances have basically come with a "EULA" for years
    ... it's called a 'warranty'. :-)

VHS tapes, music CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, books etc. have all had a
EULA as well, but even fewer people ever bother to read those.

Nope, those are two rather different things. A EULA is to describe what duties you have to the manufacturer, while a warranty describes when not to call the manufacturer when your device breaks down.

Oh, you though either of them would say anything* that would benefit the
    user ? Silly you. :-)

    * other than to repeat some laws**, while making it sound as if its them who grant you those rights.

** not applicable in 'Murrica, where EULAs can nullify state laws.

    Smithwicks,

The day a refrigerator comes with an EULA is the day I completely
    lose faith in the world.

I already lost my faith when I read that in 'Murrica you are bound to the conditions of a eula *even when you didn't have a chance to read it* (the so-called "shrink-wrap eula"), and that the stuff in a eula may nullify a states (consumers protection) laws.

... its a good thing I live in Europe.

A lot of the licensing agreements say* something along the lines of "by opening the packaging you agree...", which of course is inside the shrink-wrap.

Similarly, once you've opened the packaging, you'll have a much harder
time trying to return it to the store for a refund if you've simply
changed your mind about buying it.

    * At least they used to. These days with everything being streaming and downloadable, there is less and less that actually come in packaging.
    :-(

But there will come a time when you have "NO CHOICE" as they will all be
made with displays built into them!

Well, than you could just disconnect the display. Problem solved.

Hey, maybe than plug it into your (Android) phone, they have the same orientation. :-)

Someone has managed to run the game "Doom" on a fridge's display (via
    Xbox Game Pass). <https://www.facebook.com/ign/videos/doom-eternal-on-a-smart-fridge/2745847655735715/>

Defeat level 75 and the fridge might let you take the butter out. ;-)

    Your Name,

I've read that people have successfully ported Doom to all kinds of devices, even, iirc, a smartwatch (no idea how the controls (would) work though).

Defeat level 75 and the fridge might let you take the butter out. ;-)

it looks like you have watched to many "black mirror" (distropian future) episodes. :-)
