A guild was an organization of tradesmen more akin to a union.

The Gilded Age gave rise to Guilded Age when Americans prosperred,

Nope, that never happened at any time

Yes.-a It did.-a The Moors conquered the Iberian Penninsula in the 8th
century and and warred with Christian Europe for nearly 800 years.-a It
took until 1492 for Christian Europe to drive them off the continent.

The dirty Mooslims weren't fully defeated in Europe until the battle of Vienna in 1683.

From which the West discovered coffee, which the Moors had left behind.

In any event, it really depends on where one draws the line for where
"Europe" is, because the Ottoman Empire was still in control of most of
the Balkans (up to Belgrade), Moldavia, etc 50+ years later.

Because unfortunately, Americans as a whole are very poorly educated in
World geography & history: many only consider Western European
countries to be "Europe", with some even ignoring the Iberian peninsula.

In any event, the Western European powers (including the USA) continued
to tangle with the Ottoman Empire for long after 1683: in addition to Napoleon & Egypt (1798) and the USA in Tripoli (USMC 1804), the Ottoman
Empire effectively was in control of northern Africa, Cairo to Algiers.
They didn't lose this sphere of influence of coastal (Mediterranean)
northern Africa until roughly the 1880s.

But even then, the Ottoman Empire wasn't done with Europe, because they
allied with the Austria-Hungarian Empire during WW-I, and direct
military conflicts included the infamous battles on the Gallipoli
peninsula, which for the UK, resulted in roughly 1/3rd of their total causalities in the war.

IIRC, this battle took place because Europe wanted to finally eject them "completely" out of Europe, with the goal of to the Bosphorus Strait
which is the classical textbook definition of the geographical border
between Asia & European continents, even though geopolitically it was a
    futile effort.

    <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moors>

In the 9th century, the Moors conquered Sicily and southern Italy.

    <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muslim_conquest_of_Sicily>

All that said, the poster ignores that it was the Moors who collected
much ancient Greek and Roman knowledge that had been lost when the
Library at Alexandia burned and the western Roman Empire collapsed.
They recruited Jewish scribes to translate these texts into Latin
which were then distributed throughout Europe bringing vastly
    important scientific knowledge to Europe.

The Moors were scientists themselves inventing alegbra and being
competent and detailed observers of the skies.-a We can thank the Moors
for the creation of modern astronomy out of the superstitious nonsense
of astrology prevalent in Europe at the time.

There were more libraries in Andalusian Spain than in all the rest of
Europe combined.-a And while London was little more than a collection
of muddy wooden huts, cities like Cordoba and Seville had streetlights
at night and universities that attracted students from all over
Europe, Africa and the middle east.

And plenty of proof of their influence still standing today in Spain's architecture too:

    It's not a misspelling. It's a diminuitive - and correctly speled.
