    *Who do you believe?*

    /The Tony Tonkin Show, 27 Jul 2025/ <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_869tMxy_I>

    "I have been wondering about who we believe when presented with
    assertions rather than facts. I am curious about the allegations that
    Obama is a traitor and whether that is factual. Let me know what you
    think below."
    ~~~ ~~~
    The issue in end effect is who do you won't believe?
    Clearly truth doesn't necessarily win votes. Hence discussions around
    politics are permeated with lies, intentional misinterpretations and misrepresentations of opponents and opposing views. It is obvious that
    factual information is completely incompatible with political propaganda.
    So what should politically literate people do to filter out all the
    chaotic disruptive noise in the public arena put out by bad face actors?
    I suppose the only way to cut through that crap deluge is to be
    sceptical of populists and look at trends in their behaviour and compare
    their contradictory rhetoric by using logic and well established facts.
    And of course, always ask the question who is profiting from political decision making and who is providing the moneys politicians use the sell
    their agendas to the voting public.
    Ultimately never forget that political lies are usually constructed with
    the politically and media wise semi- or fully illiterate masses in mind.
    If you aren't part of that demographic you won't be so easily fooled.
