I'll probably need to watch the episode a few times before I comment as
I didn't read any bios, etc. about this season.

I watched it, and my initial reaction was that it will be hard to
root for someone among such an unlikable group of contestants.
Based on the first episode, I feel that everybody on Blue Tribe is
a doofus, especially Congressional Aide Guy. However, based
on first impressions, there may be a couple of normal people on
Red and Yellow Tribes. The rCLairport baggage slingerrCY looks like
a legitimate player, but his age may end up being a handicap.
Also, rCLlaw clerkrCY and rCLfitness trainerrCY are probably going to be better players than the two that Probst kicked out of Ponderosa.
Speaking of Probst, is he now unable to tell the difference between
right and left. Law Clerk was clearly standing on the far right of his
tribe.
I really wish I had not been spoiled concerning the two S49 players
who will be appearing in S50. IrCOm going to be thinking about that Information as long as they remain in the game.
FWIW, the guy from Alberta appears to be even more of a dick than
I had anticipated.

I agree completely with everything you've said.-a This is one of the most unlikeable, uninteresting casts in many seasons, and is comparable to
those awful casts of the low 40s.-a There is literally no one obvious to root for, and I agree it is unfortunate that we've been spoiled on the
two players that make it to S50 since it is likely they both make it far
in the game and one of them is likely the winner of the season.

RIZGOD was nothing like I was expecting. He openly "cheated" to gain supplies for his tribe and admitted he sucks at puzzles. He wants to
become one of the greatest players ever? Savannah came across as someone
who will have no problem screwing over people to win. I wonder if her first(?) confessional where she said "This will be the easiest million
I've ever made" was the show just giving away the ending because they're focused on S50 and assume fans are as well?
The producer(?) of super hero movies seems like he has potential. I
liked him. The guy who was an alternate and said he found out 30 minutes before he went to bed the night before is likable and seems like he
wants to take advantage of his luck.
I need to watch the episode a second time as I can't even recall what
the IC was. What I remember are the stupid things such as the woman who
peed three times. I think she's also obsessed with poop. Jake(?), the
guy from Edmonton, might be a Russell fan. I was expecting to like him
but so far he's coming off as a jerk.
I hope that this season doesn't turn out to be the exact opposite of Australia v. The World. That was such an amazing season. Easily one of
the top Survivor seasons of all time. I fear S49 is going to be one of
the worst.

He seems like a much more self-aware version of Kishan from S47.

Yes, he and the other alternate (M.C. Hammer) are both on Yellow
Tribe who, with the exception of the woman who is frightened of birds,
all appear to be relatively normal. At least so far.:-)

Yeah, she was also belching during confessional. But, in her defence,
the editors should not be including such things in the show. Just like
the scene of the Nicole vomiting. Totally unnecessary IMO.

I took a pass on it for the reasons I mentioned in another thread. Also, there were some uncannily accurate spoilers posted on Survivor Sucks
so I knew the winner before the episodes had even started. Even if I had changed my mind after reading all the posts by you and Rick, I already
knew too much.

I went in knowing nothing and came out very impressed. The F4 IC they
did was unlike anything I've seen on our Survivor. It was nice to watch
an endurance challenge followed by a vote to determine F3.

That surprised me too. She's cute enough to do well from an audience acceptance stand point. Not sure which station she was with as I don't
watch the local news enough to have caught her on air. (I'm in the
Atlanta area where she worked.)
And the girl who threw up - Nicole - wasn't she also the one that spit
water into the kid's face to get the mud out of his eye?
Yeah, that was a disgusting move.
I get you wanting to watch the episode a second time to get all the
names straight. For me, I was thinking one time might be one too many.
I won't get most of the names right for a number of episodes.
Technically, it wasn't cheating because the rules didn't prohibit going
up to the other player's puzzle. It was clearly the other player's
stupidity in not undoing his puzzle after he saw where the wheel was
buried. He's the DC guy, I think - Alex.
He's not only more self-aware, but he's 20 years older and also seems
much more accomplished. According to Wikipedia, he was VP of Production
and Development for Marvel Studios from 2010 until March 2025, which is around when he would have left to film this season.
So she's pee girl, poop girl and now burp girl. That's quite the
trifecta.
That's really too bad as it was a pretty good season.

I really wish I had not been spoiled concerning the two S49 players

FWIW, the guy from Alberta appears to be even more of a dick than

I agree completely with everything you've said.-a This is one of the

RIZGOD was nothing like I was expecting. He openly "cheated" to gain
supplies for his tribe and admitted he sucks at puzzles. He wants to
become one of the greatest players ever? Savannah came across as someone >>> who will have no problem screwing over people to win. I wonder if her

I need to watch the episode a second time as I can't even recall what

peed three times. I think she's also obsessed with poop. Jake(?), the
guy from Edmonton, might be a Russell fan. I was expecting to like him
but so far he's coming off as a jerk.
I hope that this season doesn't turn out to be the exact opposite of
Australia v. The World. That was such an amazing season. Easily one of
the top Survivor seasons of all time. I fear S49 is going to be one of
the worst.
Yes, the pee girl is also the poop girl. Something strange going on
with her.
Agree about Riz. How does anyone go on Survivor who hasn't at least
practiced with puzzles?
Regarding the ex-TV newswoman, was anyone else wondering if she had
gotten fired from her TV job? Can't imagine anyone leaving a job like
that voluntarily.

He seems like a much more self-aware version of Kishan from S47.
Kishan was the doctor? I think the movie producer dude has a lot of
potential.
Yes, but he was only 27 so he could not have been a doctor for that
long.-a I think he was still a resident.
The guy who was an alternate and said he found out 30 minutes
before he went to bed the night before is likable and seems like he
wants to take advantage of his luck.
Yes, he and the other alternate (M.C. Hammer) are both on Yellow
Tribe who, with the exception of the woman who is frightened of birds,
all appear to be relatively normal. At least so far.:-)
I'm drawing a blank on the other alternate. The bird woman seems
likable but I don't see her lasting long.
MC is the other alternate.-a I barely know who she is.-a Fitness trainer maybe?
I need to watch the episode a second time as I can't even recall what
the IC was.
It involved the return of the mud pit of death and gigantic snakes.
Thanks. Now I remember!
What I remember are the stupid things such as the woman who
peed three times. I think she's also obsessed with poop.
Yeah, she was also belching during confessional. But, in her defence,
the editors should not be including such things in the show. Just like
the scene of the Nicole vomiting. Totally unnecessary IMO.
The exec in charge of entertainment at CBS must have read that viewers
want more bathroom type humor because BB27 has had a lot of it.
Speaking of BB, are you watching the Amazing Race this season?-a It's all teams with at least one BB player.-a Fortunately, none of them are named Rachel.

a major turn-off for me.
I'm sensing he's going to go into Russell territory and start destroying
people's property. Or did the show put an end to that kind of behavior?
Well, like a lot of things in Survivor, the rules regarding stealing and/or destroying a playerrCOs personal property appear to be kind of rCLflexiblerCY.
According to the Survivor Wiki, the rule book states that stealing personal property, including hidden immunity objects, is strictly prohibited. Players are allowed to look through each others property, but they canrCOt damage anything while doing so. However, these rules have been broken on
several occasions without the guilty parties being penalized:
-Rupert stole the womensrCO shoes at the beginning of the Pearl
Islands season.
-Hantz burned another playerrCOs socks in his first season.
-Sandra burned HantzrCOs hat in H.vsV.
-Holly Hoffman buried Dan LemborCOs shoes at the bottom of a lake
in the Nicaragua season.
-Julia Wolfe stole Phillip SheppardrCOs shorts and hid them under a rock
in the Redemption Island season.
-Bill Posley threw Colton CumbierCOs HII into the ocean in SOW.
-Naonka stole and wore a pair of JuddrCOs socks in the Nicaragua season. FWIW, during the most recent episode of rCLOn Fire With Jeff ProbstrCY, Probst
stated that there are no rules prohibiting the stealing of playersrCO clothing, such
as shoes. So like I said....rCYflexiblerCY.:-)
I went in knowing nothing and came out very impressed. The F4 IC they
did was unlike anything I've seen on our Survivor. It was nice to watch
an endurance challenge followed by a vote to determine F3.
That sounds interesting. Maybe IrCOll download the final episode of rCLA vs. TWrCY
just to see that challenge.

Technically, it wasn't cheating because the rules didn't prohibit going
up to the other player's puzzle.-a It was clearly the other player's stupidity in not undoing his puzzle after he saw where the wheel was buried.-a He's the DC guy, I think --a Alex.

She also confirmed in one of her interviews what I had suspected, which
is that she had effectively been let go of her most recent reporting
job, or at least her contract wasn't renewed, which is basically the
same thing.
The producer(?) of super hero movies seems like he has potential. I
liked him.
He seems like a much more self-aware version of Kishan from S47.
He's not only more self-aware, but he's 20 years older and also seems
much more accomplished.-a According to Wikipedia, he was VP of Production and Development for Marvel Studios from 2010 until March 2025, which is around when he would have left to film this season.
The guy who was an alternate and said he found out 30 minutes

Yeah, Jeff and his mud obsession.-a I wish someone at CBS would tell him that it's impossible for viewers at home to know who is who when players
are covered in mud, especially in the first episode when no one knows
who anyone is anyway.
What I remember are the stupid things such as the woman who
peed three times. I think she's also obsessed with poop.

So she's pee girl, poop girl and now burp girl. That's quite the
trifecta. There must be some reason they are showing all this.-a I wonder
if the show just doesn't like her for some reason.

The challenge is crazy. It looked like it was pure torture. The entire season is worth watching. Some of the differences in editing made the
season very appealing. For example, there was less confessionals than
we're used to seeing. They seemed to let game talk, especially at camp, drive the storylines. It was like they trusted the audience to be smart enough to figure things out on their own.
That shtick has helped Cirie to make a lot of money. Bird woman probably wants to see if she can cash in on the same strategy.
