• Question: Remailer Capability Tool on Sec3's site?

    From Nomen Nescio@nobody@dizum.com to alt.privacy.anon-server on Sat Aug 2 20:37:08 2025
    From Newsgroup: alt.privacy.anon-server

    I don't quite understand all the entries.

    The "Post" entry via mail2news has
    dizum, frannie, middleman, frell2, paranoia & frell.

    Does the above mean that those are the only remailers that can be used
    to post anon when using mail2news with QSL?

    If so, then what does the middleman list mean?
    banana, frannie, middleman, & shalo.

    banana and shalo are not in the mail2news list. If they are middleman
    entries, why aren't they in the mail2news list.

    If you don't use a M2N gateway (p.e. mail2news@dizum.com)
    with an exit remailer then use this template for posting

    p.s.

    having used the template that i previously posted, qsl did work using "post" instead of "to" . . . it took over three hours to get there, sent 19:07 (mdt) but didn't arrive until 22:46 = 3:39 . . . also, that message header did not appear to use frell at all, but only dizum, and i'm sure i did not click yes when prompted by qsl to confirm: "last remailer in your chain is a middleman remailer...would you like to select another remailer?" . . . i saved the log (which shows i used 4 copies instead of 3, otherwise verbatim using template):

    qsl's "mlist.txt" indicates typical stats:

    Last update: Mon 04 Aug 2025 00:50:02 GMT
    mixmaster history latency uptime >--------------------------------------------
    banana +**+++* 54:29 100.00%
    dizum ******+***** 33:00 100.00%
    frannie **+*****+*** 39:00 100.00%
    frell +++-++-+++++ 2:50:00 100.00%
    ^ ^^
    middleman ************ 14:00 100.00%
    shalo ******* 36:30 99.88%
    paranoia ****++*+**++ 57:00 99.78%
    frell2 +---------++ 7:51:00 99.71%

    so the 3 1/2 hour delay could be because "frell" (2:50) forwarded
    to "dizum" (don't know why it would do that, no problem since the
    full "from" header works with either, frell adds ~2 hours latency
    and has higher klen, but frannie >frell >dizum = double-forwarded)
