    I successfully posted to a news group using QSL./Tor with port 25.


    I've posted to ports 25, 26, 587, 2525, others that are open on
    clandestine servers. All will work over Tor. If not using Tor, 25
    generally is never going to work because of blocking. In some cases ALL
    of them will fail because of advanced content filtering by ISPs.

    That's correct. There are ways to make it tougher to detect.
