• Need a new email account

I need a new paid for e-mail account that is simple and private. One
without a ton of damn options, hardly any that I understand.

It has to allow for a freebie test version for a month or so. I want to
use the free month to see if it is usable for me.

I've checked out Proton. It's ridiculous the screen that comes up with
so many choices that I don't understand nor need.

All I need is really decent auto or manual spam blocking, send, receive,
delete and such. Not dozens of needless choices.

Forget it. I've decided to use Proton.

I seem to recall... Proton has acted 'variably' I think.

In my 'excursions' and experimentation w/ VPN, I have used Proton's.
When I 'started' w/ Proton's VPN, I don't think they were 'giving away'
    any kind of Proton mail.

Somewhere along the way, I 'got' a little free Proton email and now the
Proton page shows it, a G of storage & 1 addy.

Their cheapest 'better' one is $4/mo (annually).

Cotse compares themselves w/ Proton, comparably priced. Free 30d trial.
